As a recognized Cypress Ambassador and seasoned QA Architect, I’ve architected test automation solutions for industry leaders like ING, AON, and the Dutch government. Where most consultants focus solely on tooling, I deliver complete quality transformations—integrating cutting-edge test automation with your organization’s culture, processes, and tech stack. My unique background as a former teacher means I am able to empower your teams to own and scale them. If you’re serious about elevating your test automation maturity, let’s talk.
I’m Paul de Witt, a Cypress Ambassador and Quality Assurance Architect who believes that great test automation is about more than just code—it’s about integrating technology, organization, culture, and people into one cohesive solution.
From Teacher to Test Automation Expert
My journey into quality assurance started as a functional tester, but I quickly gravitated toward the technical side of testing. What sets me apart? My background as a certified teacher and trainer. This experience taught me how to break down complex technical concepts and make them accessible—a skill that proves invaluable when implementing test automation strategies across diverse teams.
Today, I specialize in helping organizations implement and adopt modern test automation architectures, with a particular focus on Cypress test automation. As a Cypress Ambassador, I actively speak at conferences, contribute to the Cypress Dutch Community, and share knowledge through blog posts and practical example code.
A Holistic Approach to Quality
What makes my approach unique is that I don’t just focus on the technical stack. I analyze your organization’s maturity level, understand your culture and processes, and create pragmatic test solutions that seamlessly integrate with your Agile, DevOps, front-end, and back-end environments.
My expertise spans:
- Test automation architecture (Cypress, Playwright)
- Quality frameworks (TMMi, ISO 25010)
- CI/CD implementation and pipeline optimization
- Performance testing integration
- Language-First testing approaches
- Non-functional requirements and quality metrics
Real-World Impact
I’ve helped organizations like SBB, AON, ING, ParTech, and RVO (Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland) transform their quality assurance practices. Whether it’s building automated test architectures from the ground up, implementing quality frameworks, or training teams in modern testing techniques, I bring both technical depth and practical implementation experience.
Beyond the Code
When I’m not architecting test solutions, you’ll find me writing blog posts on topics like passing variables between Cypress tests, enabling non-technical testers to use Cypress, debunking the ROI myth in software testing, and implementing data-driven testing strategies.
I’m 43, married, and a father of three. In my spare time, I enjoy making music, reading, and staying active.
